Are there any legal wars?
Does not detract from what is a barbaric practice by the Japanse though, surely? With all the resources of one of the most technicaly advanced societies in the modern world what is the need to slaughter any animal in such a manner?
A silly continuance of a question. What laws would any war violate?

Metallica wisdom = the guy did not know that the band, Metallica, borrowed the phrase for their song, "For Whom the Bell Tolls" (Album = "Ride the Lightening," released in 1984.) Not that I can recall whom they borrowed it from, but at least I know they did not coin the phrase. That'd be like suggesting Iron Maiden came up with "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" completely on their own, instead of crafting a musical abridgement of Samuel Taylor Coleridge's epic poem.
